Dr. David Brown

Our Medical Director has a nearly lifelong pattern of excellence and distinction. He enjoys applying this level of dedication and expertise to help people with a broad array of neurologic disorders.

While in college, he majored in biochemistry and Russian simultaneously, and received several nationally competitive awards: a National Science Foundation fellowship in biochemistry, the extremely competitive Goldwater Scholarship in Math, Science and Engineering, funded by U.S. Congress, and given to only 250 students in the entire United States, and was a finalist in the Department of Defense's National Security Education Program, also only given to 300 students in the entire United States.

While in medical school, he had the highest score in his graduating class on the United States Medical Licensing Exam, and the highest score in the country on the osteopathic medical licensing exam. He also co-authored a highly rated review book on medical physiology while in medical school.

While doing his residency in Neurology at UC Irvine Medical Center, he was selected as the chief resident, received awards of excellence, and scored in the top 1% in the United States on the national neurology examination. He subsequently did a fellowship in clinical MRI interpretation under the mentorship of the former president of the American Society of Neuroimaging, and spent three years in clinical practice under the mentorship of the current president of the International Association of Parkinsons and Related Disorders.

Dr. Brown has practiced clinical neurology for ten years. During this time he has been nominated to the Leading Physicians of the World, participated in numerous research studies and given numerous lectures, discovered an intracranial manifestation of Raynaud's disease, and developed several new methods of treating neurologic disease, including for a rare facial pain disorder, cervicogenic headache, and migraine. For some of these methods of treatment he has patent applications pending.

In his personal life, Dr. Brown enjoys tennis, running, volleyball, hiking, and spending time with his wife and children. He also enjoys travel, languages and history, has lived in Russia for several months, Peru for a month, and spent time in Italy, Spain and Germany.
